Once you have installed your tracking code it is important to test to see that it is operating correctly. The first step is to trigger the tracking code of your goal. You can do this in two ways: manually complete a test transaction/goal; wait for a customer to trigger the script.
Now that the script has been triggered log into your account and check the goal status:
If it says 'Error' check the Tracking Errors report for the reason of the error. Correct any errors and retest.
If the status says 'Pending' the script has not yet been triggered, ensure that the code is in the visible part of the success page delivered to the visitor.
If the status says 'Active' our systems have detected the successful execution of the tracking script. Check the Trace report to ensure that the values you have passed through are as expected. If everything is as you would expect your tracking script is now functioning correctly.
